I'm getting ready for college, and that means for me to start writing papers. Its been a year since I graduated from 'High School', and all I've done is write fiction since then. I'm currently planning on writing a five paragraph essay on the architecture of Rome, and a research paper on Vietnam. I'm still working on going through OYAN, and I'm going to have to figure out when to fit that in.
I can't wait to write the one on the architecture of Rome because I love architecture. I don't just like it, I love it. God has given humans a great ability to make everything beautiful, even our homes, and it is shown through the ages. We paint them, carve them, make them interesting shapes (yes the shapes are useful, but they are also beautiful), and make them as comfortable as we know how. I wonder at how beautiful heaven will be what with the intricacy of the temple Solomon built for God, and the Tabernacle that God gave directions for to Moses. God loves beauty and intricacy, not just in architecture. Okay, I'll stop before I go on down a rabbit trail.
I have not learned at all about Vietnam. It is an important subject for Americans though because of the Vietnam War and its impact on today. I'm so uncertain of what I'll be centering on though. . . I can't wait until the books come in from the library.
I'm stuck on my story again, no surprise there. Well, more like I'm balking at trying to figure out how my Hero changes in the end of my book. If you've done OYAN before, I'm stuck on lesson 18. I'm also a bit out of ideas for a twist/surprise/revelation as well. Or even a symbol for that twist/surprise/revelation. The Bunneh's have left me in this area, while bombarding me with new ideas. Hurrah. (sarcasm intended)
So that's a quick catch up on what I've been doing with my writing. I can't wait to begin my new papers and see how badly the first drafts will come out! Then I get to edit them. Mwahahaha!

Drabble: Snow
This dabble was started when I looked outside at the deep snow, and thought of the words 'sharply soothing'. At first that didn't make sense to me, until I made a sentence with it. Now I love this description, and I hope to use it in one of my stories one day! Here's my dabble:
I tripped and fell hard, my hands
falling down through the deep snow and my face planting deep in it.
The snow felt sharply soothing against my hot, sweaty, tear stained
face. That felt so much better than the shame I was running from that
I staid there, reveling in the cool solitude I had found.

P.S. I have been very busy with preparing to go to college, so the 'Character Mondays' will not always be on Mondays now. Well, at least not until I get more into a schedule. :)

Character Mondays: Jesi
Yeah. . . I really need to work on her. Again. >.< Okay.
Me: Jesi, this time I'm going to give you situations and you'll tell me what you'd do. *nod*
Jesi: Okay. O.o
Me: What would you do if you where in a car that was going super fast with some person and that person suddenly died.
Jesi: What kind of situation is that? Um, I'd probably try to take over the wheel and slow it down in some way.
Me: What if there was a cliff ahead with a sharp turn, and you the brake pedal isn't working?
Jesi: You want to kill me. I'd pray that I live, and try to make the turn. O.O
Me: What if-
Jesi: O.O That's enough. Goodbye everyone! :D *leaves*
Me: I was going to ask her what she'd do if she made it. . . Oh well. Thanks for reading! :D

My second Drabble! It has a big tree. . . Yup.
Okay. I'm going to do this one on trees. I miss seeing the green trees so much right now. . . I'm not sure if it's a very good drabble, as it seems like the beginning of a story, but I think you can do drabbles like that. I don't know though, but anyways, here it is:
I sat beneath the biggest tree I've
ever seen, breathing hard. It's shade was cooling and refreshing, a
nice relief from the scorching sun. An ugly brown bird hopped down to
where I sat, “Morning!” He said, “You really shouldn't be here,
move on.” I watched him fly away. What is wrong? Did I do
something? All I had done was sit down. I have walked all day,
besides it's stuffy and hot, I deserve a rest. I felt something rough
wrap around me, and the world became cool and dark.

Character Mondays: Jesi (and Rea)
Sadly, life has taken a tole on things, and I haven't gotten around to this for three weeks. I'm super super sorry. . . Okay, I need to work on my MC Jesi, so I'll interview her again tonight.
Me: Okay Jesi, I'm going off a list here today. Do you have any bad habits?
Jesi: Um, I like to play with my hair.
Rea: She only does that when she's nervous or else needs to be comforted.
Me: Rea! How'd you get in here! Okay, to settle any confusion, Rea is Jesi's mom. Um, I suppose as you're her mom, you can sit in on this one, but don't do that again!
Rea: All right sweetie, but I am her mother and I will use the authority I have over her to become her lawyer if need be.
Me: *whispered* Okay, she has no idea. . . *Stops whispering* Okay Jesi, has anything scared you enough to keep you up at night?
Jesi: I'd probably say the night dad threatened me to stay away from these kids or else he'd bring me to the doctors. . . Doctors are scary.
Rea: Well honey, we had our reasons to make you afraid. I'm sorry it kept you awake at night though.
Me: Rea. . .
Rea: Sorry sweetie. Continue.
Me: Jesi, what do you think is your worst quality or attribute?
Jesi: I'm short.
Me: Seriously? Come on.
Jesi: Okay. . . Mom says I don't talk enough. I'm not good with words, I don't like talking.
Rea: Unless you're practicing an accent. Then you go nuts about talking about nothing at all. *rolls eyes*
Jesi: Mom. . .
Me: *smirk* Okay, last one. Do you have any extended family?
Jesi: I don't know. . . Mom?
Rea: I cannot say at the moment. I'm sorry, but I cannot say.
Me: Okay. This is kind of awkward, so, that's it for now. Goodnight folks!

Character Mondays: Ieoie
. . . Christmas time has been so busy that I'm behind. Either way, I'm taking a break from working on Breaking Free, and instead I'm working on this fun new character! :)
*Drops Ieoie*
Me: Okay. Who are you?
Ieoie: *Grins* I'm Ieoie, son of the Elvish Thief Lord, and grandson to the greatest thief ever!
Me: Um, okay. Who are in your family?
Ieoie: Well, I have my mom and dad, one older sister, and three younger sisters.
Me: Why do you call your grandfather the greatest thief ever?
Ieoie: He stole an obsidian door off of a mermaids palace front gate. While the guards where standing there! :D
Me: Wow. How did he do that?
Ieoie: Well, he never told anyone how he did it. He just did it.
Me: Okay, where do you live?
Ieoie: <.< You haven't named the city yet, but it's a merchant city on the edge of a desert next to a very big harbor that goes out to the sea.
Me: What are you?
Ieoie: Why are you asking questions you already know the answer to? I'm a fire elf!
Me: Because I'm trying to get to know you better. :) As a fire elf, what can you do?
Ieoie: I can shoot sparks out of my hands! :D You should see my older sister though, she can create rainbow colored flames. But mine comes in handy more often. . .
Me: U huh. Okay then, one last question. What are you scared of?
Ieoie: Me? Truly?
Me: Yes.. Truly.
Ieoie: *sigh* I'm scared of darkness. Of being enveloped in it and not be able to create light with my sparks. Everything being a black void that eats all of that beautiful light.
Me: O.O Okay. See you next week!

My First Drabble! The winged girl
Drabble = What you write using a writing prompt in as few words as possible.
This is my first Drabble. My prompt was wings and my goal was 100 words. It's 155. . . But I couldn't do any less without taking something away. Here it is:
This is my first Drabble. My prompt was wings and my goal was 100 words. It's 155. . . But I couldn't do any less without taking something away. Here it is:
The girl looked down into the alley and
winced. The sound of a dog yelping in pain could be heard, and the
sound of boys laughing. Anger distorted her face, and she stood up on
the roof and opened her wings. She relished the look of horror on the
boys' faces when the looked up to see her; a black winged red-headed
angel dressed in a gray over-sized hoodie and dark brown jeans. They
scattered as she glided down to where the mongrel lay near a
dumpster. He looked up at her, fear showing in his eyes as he growled
at her. She sighed; she knew of his pain, for she had been tormented
before too. She took off her hoodie, showing a black sequined
sleeveless shirt that was hidden underneath, and picked up the dog
with it. Her dad was going to kill her for bringing home a dirty
mutt, but she didn't care.
