The Halt

So I have a problem.

On the 31st of October, my computer died.
A wonderful date for that to happen, huh?

I've lost a whole lot of work, because I didn't back things up.

Yup.
All writers, please heed this plea.
Backup your files somewhere.

So I'm back to square one with a lot of projects until my dad gets my data off of the hard drive.

All homework is done at the library or on my wonderful friends' laptops (my eternal thanks guys!).

Overall, I've given up on the thought of completing this year's NaNoWriMo, thanks to this unforeseen event, though as you can see, I did try at first.

The number you see on the device thingy?
That was all written on my phone.
Yup.
I can't keep doing that, as more than once I wanted to throw my phone and auto-correct at the wall.
(bad idea, especially if your phone is your only current device that still allows you to talk to family and friends without having to go somewhere else. . .)

Any who.

I might not come back for a while.

Or at least, I'll not be coming back with my A Step of Faith series for a while.
Though, I might be able to use them to still work on some story things.

Oh well, maybe I need to work on some Pinspiration posts next.

Keep on Writing!

God Bless,

Sorry I haven't posted in a while!

I will really, really, really try hard to post something in the next few days. Things have been pretty crazy lately. But, seeing as I haven't posted anything in weeks, I shall quickly post something that happened to me tonight.

Random character that I don't even know popped into my head while washing dishes tonight, and exclaimed "And THAT is how I saved the world at the age of three years. Or, at least, so I've been told." O.O

I might actually use this odd character someday. . . Whoever this is.

Has anything like this ever happen to you? Will you possibly use this unknown person in a future writing project?

Here comes college. (I'm starting to write essays and research papers again.)

I'm getting ready for college, and that means for me to start writing papers. Its been a year since I graduated from 'High School', and all I've done is write fiction since then. I'm currently planning on writing a five paragraph essay on the architecture of Rome, and a research paper on Vietnam. I'm still working on going through OYAN, and I'm going to have to figure out when to fit that in.

I can't wait to write the one on the architecture of Rome because I love architecture. I don't just like it, I love it. God has given humans a great ability to make everything beautiful, even our homes, and it is shown through the ages. We paint them, carve them, make them interesting shapes (yes the shapes are useful, but they are also beautiful), and make them as comfortable as we know how. I wonder at how beautiful heaven will be what with the intricacy of the temple Solomon built for God, and the Tabernacle that God gave directions for to Moses. God loves beauty and intricacy, not just in architecture. Okay, I'll stop before I go on down a rabbit trail.

I have not learned at all about Vietnam. It is an important subject for Americans though because of the Vietnam War and its impact on today. I'm so uncertain of what I'll be centering on though. . . I can't wait until the books come in from the library.

I'm stuck on my story again, no surprise there. Well, more like I'm balking at trying to figure out how my Hero changes in the end of my book. If you've done OYAN before, I'm stuck on lesson 18. I'm also a bit out of ideas for a twist/surprise/revelation as well. Or even a symbol for that twist/surprise/revelation. The Bunneh's have left me in this area, while bombarding me with new ideas. Hurrah. (sarcasm intended)

So that's a quick catch up on what I've been doing with my writing. I can't wait to begin my new papers and see how badly the first drafts will come out! Then I get to edit them. Mwahahaha!

Dreams, BIG Dreams.

Okay, the title says it all. When I dream, I dream big. I don't just dream about writing a book, directing a movie, designing costumes and clothes, and more. All of these end up being dreamed up as best selling books, sell out movies, high end fashion or big movie production costume design, I can go on for ages.

But my problem always seems to be one thing: in real life, what can I do? Of course I can write, sew, and do other things, but I always end up procrastinating. I'm probably one of the worst procrastinators that I know of. From school that I don't like, to household chores. I'm working on this curse of man kind (for procrastination is really a fancy word for saying your lazy), but it is really hard.

This curse of laziness has probably been around since after the fall, but I must admit that I'm not sure when exactly. I don't even know where it first appears in the Bible (maybe after the flood?), but if Proverbs has any say, it has been around for hundreds of centuries and it doesn't like to let go of its victim.

Sadly, I have yet to find a cure for myself, and most likely this will follow me for the rest of my life. But one thing that I can say continually, work is a blessing and I will never tire of it (the greater majority of the time).

Sole Deo Gloria,

Joy
