Fireworks and Another Update

Happy Fourth of July!

This has been a very interesting Fourth, one that is full of. . .
Slowness.

These past weeks have been busy.
I finally found a job.
A prologue and first chapter of my current Work In Progress was written and rewritten, critiqued, and another rewrite started.
I traveled down to Kansas and had a wonderful week at a writing workshop.
My sister and her husband came up and are currently visiting for a few days.

But everything seems to have happened slowly.

Maybe it's the long daylight hours of summer.
Maybe it's the fact that I'm getting older.
Who knows.

Anyways.
I do have a reason for writing up another blog post.

I have rewritten Shadow Wings' Synopsis.

I literally wrote it up about five minutes ago, and yes I'm too excited to keep it to myself.
It's not too long, which I'm happy about.
I really like how it sounds.
Then again I'm emotional and tired.
Either way, here it is:

Sometimes, in order to save today, you must unbury the past. Abigail Dimond, an ordinary historian, never thought that she'd have to become someone else in order to save today. Well, not literally, but the next closest thing. Through the use of a secret technology only recently revealed to the public, she now must work through the memories and feelings of a woman named Kallie Forbes and work against time to stop needless hatred and evil from spreading any farther.
In a time of micro smart computers and hovercrafts, she must return to the slower pace of the past in order to save many lives, including some that she's only met in someone else's memories.

I haven't really dug into Abigail as a character yet, but I'm in love with her already.
Bah.
I'm an Author.
Of course I'd be in love with her.
Oh well. . .

Ask any questions, and I'll gladly answer!
Really, I will.
I really need help developing this more.

Keep on Writing!

God Bless

Brainstorming Saturdays: I can never leave out the dragons.

Well, with all of the Building Printhia's I've done in the past month or so, I thought I'd let you into one of my Printhian stories.

I might as well start with a story that has been on my mind before I made Printhia, and only came to full after I created Printhian cultures.

Beneath the Dragon's Gate started off just as a normal Fairy Tale retelling, and in fact it probably could still be considered a 'normal' Fairy Tale retelling; I've only used Printhia to give it different twists.

Currently outlined and waiting its turn to be played with and updated, it currently stands at 37 planned chapters.

My current synopsis (really needs updated. . .):
When her country is torn between a truce with the dragons or being conquered by a neighboring human kingdom, Princess Rika is the one who must make the sacrifice. Sent by her parents to marry the dragon prince Iros, she rebels at every twist and turn she can think of. But when they are about to enter the mountainous dragon territory, her trusted maid Fonda turns against both Rika and her own native kingdom. After running for days on end, Rika finds refuge on one of the dragon capital's farms where she is put in charge of the geese with a few other dragon children. After trying to show the dragon king the fraud that is playing out in his palace, both Rika and the prince are kidnapped by enemy dragon's and are held for ransom. After a long and cold winter where the prince thinks she's siding with the enemy dragons, they are finally rescued by a few elite dragon warriors from the prince's own special guard. When they are brought back safely, Rika is blamed for deserting her maid in the sight of danger.

After that, she goes through a few more trials. . .
Sometimes I feel just plain mean to my charries, but the story wouldn't be worth reading otherwise!

*sigh*

I wish sometimes that Fairy Tale retellings didn't have similar elements.
Then again, if they didn't then I wouldn't have something to jump off of. . .
The complexities. . .

Oh well.

Comment with questions and the like!

Keep on Writing!

Latest Synopsis

After working really hard by myself to get everything written just right for my 'final' synopsis, I ended up talking it through with my mom and this is the result:

When the Zoic Betterment Program (ZBP) came and took Jesi Forbes, they turned her world upside down. The ZBP killed her family, her friends, and took her freedom. Now, newly trained as an elite bodyguard, she is willing to do anything in her power to bring the program down. With the future shrouded in shadow, will she succeed against all odds? Or will she become, just like Doctor Aceti and Mr. Atkins, an annihilator of her own kind?

Now I'm hoping to pick up the pace and get writing this next month or so. (That is, if I'm not bogged down with life. . . )
