Writing Wednesday: Pinspiration

Theme: A Sorcerer's Fight
Note: I'm using this week's Pinspiration for brainstorming for my current WIP. This is for the back-story of my two antagonists.

Idea for an Negrekian village.
Setting: Negrekian Village

Lady in Shrouds (by Emile Bremmer)
Possibly the original sorceress.

Brother & sister photo. Same pic every year. This almost made me cry.
This top image reminds me of the two new sorcerers, siblings Casimir and Nika

If they were younger (guy early teens and girl a few years younger) this would be Casimir and Nika in the aftermath of the sorcerer's destruction.

grey and white hair.
An older Nika as a sorceress

Possibly an older Casimir as a sorcerer

Why are the people in the background just standing there? Hmm. . .
The fight has begun.

knight medieval battle - Multiple, sadly, only different settings.
Shortly before the sorcerer arrived (change the setting to forest/meadow/mountains)

The Beauty of Revelation

I love that moment when you're almost asleep, and you suddenly understand something.
Whatever you've been trying to figure out for the last few weeks just 'clicks'.
You're mind just puts together the things that you've been reading, and connects the dots.

This weekend I decided to go through my email and read the posts that I've been 'setting aside' from This Page Intentionally Left Blank.
One of them was on back story.

For weeks I've been struggling about possibly showing the reasons why my two villains are villains in my current WIP.

Today my brain made a collision.
Err, connection.

I know why.
AND
I don't have to show why until later.

So Nika has a great distrust of men.
Except she trusts her brother.
I don't have to TELL why, just show that she does.

Casimir has a great hatred for the royal family.
Except he also hates hurting women, especially if they're younger.
I don't have to TELL why, just show that he does.

Needless to say, this is very, very, very helpful.
Back story doesn't have to be shown right away.
Duh.
But that isn't always obvious, or else I wouldn't have had this revelation happen to me.
I hope this helps ya'll in some way!

Writing Wednesday: Pinspiration

This Weeks Theme: A touch of Villainy

A villain should never be idle. . .
In fact, no one should ever be idle.

Neron Towers, he needs another story too. I like his name. :D
There is a story behind this fella, I just haven't found it yet.

Medieval Assassin by *Kat-von-Rose
A yesh, an assassin.
Not always a villain, but a 'stereotypical' villain none the less.

Dark places. . .

Fear

Rules for a Gentleman, #37
Yes.
Yes she does.
(Is guilty of having a few female villains who are like that)

Ten Tips for a Terrific Antagonist
This one actually links to a post on the "Ten Top Tips for an Antagonist".
Tips are always useful.

No right and wrong.
There is so much truth behind this one that it isn't funny.

Really, I had a lot of fun with this post.

FINALLY

Yes, I FINALLY have a name for the organization that is the bane of all Zoics. The Zoic Betterment Program, ZBP for short. I cannot tell you how excited I am at finally finding/choosing the name for that organization. Hopefully, I can now get over some big road blocks now and get more done.

OH! I also found one of my stumbling blocks that I didn't even know I had until after some digging. I didn't have a proper villain for this story. Oh, I had a villain for the second or so book (Derek. . . I paid too much attention to you. . . -_-), I just didn't have one to defeat for THIS book I'm working on. Now I do. Meet the head scientist of the ZBP, Dr. Connie Aceti!

I am so happy that I finally have a good villain to use for THIS book! No offense, of course, to Derek. He's becoming quite. . . Freaky in my mind; Dr. A also is coming together very fast, and even a better then Derek did. . . Anyways, that's my update! Hopefully I can put up a new and improved synopsis by tomorrow night.
