Eyes, First draft Complete! (Camp NaNoWriMo overview)

It's official.
I'm more of a Camp NaNoWriMo person than a NaNoWriMo person.
At least right now when I'm in college.
My goal was to hit 10,000 words written by the end of the month, and I came out just over 15,000.
I now really want July to come quicker, so I can see how far I can go then!

Not only was I able to write consistently at my own pace, I completed a first draft.
I haven't done that since high school!
I'm so happy right now.
It's really hard not immediately editing it right now.
I'm just waiting until the end of the month to start the second draft. . .
That seems like such a long time right now!
Meanwhile, my plan is to tinker with the world building and magic systems.
Hopefully that will make things come easier when I do edit it.

As of right now, I'm planning on doing Camp NaNoWriMo in July as well.
My current plan is to write the first draft of my Printhian novel, Given Away.
It's a fairy tale retelling that I've been planning on writing for a long time.
It deserves to be written by now.
My only problem with it is that I don't have much of a plot right now.
Not even an inkling of what I want to do with what I have in my mind.
Who knows, I might end up throwing everything out and pantsing again when the time comes.

Writing Wednesday: Pinspiration

This Week's Theme: Printhia's Kinds, cont.: Sylph

~-"-~

Breathtaking!!!

More is known about the Sylph than the Satyrs

~-"-~

Narcissus, Caravaggio

A more outgoing group, they are known for their narcissistic behavior

~-"-~

Beautiful

They never claimed one location, instead they drifted in clans and hid amongst the other nations

~-"-~

.

They have even been known to claim to be gods and have lead cults

~-"-~

Veil.

Their most telling sign, is their treasured full lace clothes that they wear ceremonially

~-"-~

Because of their superb ability to blend in, few are able to notice them before it's too late

Satyrs have been spotted in the mountainous regions, and are said to bring trouble on settlements.

~|~

Yet others have said that they are great guides, and eager for companionship.

One of the rare writings on them states that they live in nomadic tents.

Two groups have been spotted so far and documented.

Little is known of where they disappeared to.

Dark eyes instead.

When they do appear, they are known to be tricksters, and not to be trusted.

Their women are cunning, and skilled in their mysterious arts.

It has been rumored that two sub-races have developed from them, though few has survived to confirm.

In a search for complete peace, the Nymphs distanced themselves from all the other civilizations.

They sought wetlands and moors to make their homes.

They founded five havens of learning.

In desperation to protect themselves and their families, the Mers traded their legs for fins.

I love the webbing on the merman's arm.

Their are four groups that have the most renown in the Printhian world:

The swift, pearl harvesting Agul of the south.

Writing Wednesday: Pinspiration

This Week's Theme: Printhia's Kinds cont.; Water Elthian

`*`

From the fourth Brother, came the Water Elthian.

`*`

They drifted towards the watery places of Printhia.

`*`

A young boy with home-made wooden goggles grasps the tail of a tawny nurse shark as it pulls him through the shallow waters of the South China Sea. The Bajau people of Sabah, Sulawesi, can free-dive up to 20 metres deep when hunting for fish, pearls and sea cucumbers on the sea-bed. Known as ‘sea gypsies’, the Bajau spend most of their lives at sea; when they free-dive, they can hold their breath for up to three minutes.

They were skilled fishermen and swimmers.

`*`

Their women were known for their skills in dancing and diving.

`*`

In time, they too developed their own sub-races.
